ChatGPT got a new update – now it will remember your old conversations on its own

ChatGPT has become even smarter now. OpenAI has added a new update to it, which will now allow it to automatically remember your old conversations, whether you have asked it to remember or not.

Earlier ChatGPT used to remember only those things that the user specifically told it to remember. But now it will remember information in two ways –

Saved Memories: That is, the things that you yourself told to remember.

Reference Chat History: That is, ChatGPT will itself understand the important information from your old chats and use it to reply further.

OpenAI says that with this ChatGPT will be able to understand you better and will talk to you according to your likes and dislikes for a long time – like a personal assistant.

However, this new feature will not be available in some countries such as the European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The reason for this is the strict rules related to AI there.

Currently, this update is only coming for those users who are using ChatGPT’s $200 Pro plan. Soon it will start for $20 Plus users and Team, Enterprise, and Education users as well. No information has been given yet on when free users will get this feature.

If a user does not want ChatGPT to remember anything, he can turn off the memory feature by going to the settings. Apart from this, “Temporary Chat” can also be used, so that everything will be erased as soon as the chat ends.

It is worth noting that Google also added a similar feature to its Gemini AI in February, so that it can remember the user’s old things and give better answers.
