Now dating will also be verified: A revolution in Tinder and Visa with the technology of the world
San Francisco/Berlin – World, the company revolutionizing biometric identification technology, announced several major partnerships on Wednesday, which are expected to not only increase its sign-ups, but also bring real-world uses of its technology to the world.
The biggest deal is with Tinder’s parent company Match Group. Now Tinder users in Japan will be able to identify themselves through World’s ID verification system. This move is considered a big change towards making online dating more secure.
In addition, World has also partnered with Kalshi (a prediction market startup) and Morpho (a decentralized lending platform). Users on these platforms will now be able to log in using their pre-created World ID — that is, there is no need to verify again and again at different places.
But the biggest bang is the partnership with Visa. Together, the two are going to launch The World Card, which will be a crypto debit card. With this card, users will be able to make payments with digital assets at Visa-supported locations anywhere in the world. This card will be connected to the World App and will automatically convert crypto to fiat currency when needed. Not only this, this card is also expected to get rewards for special “AI subscriptions and services”.
World was launched in 2019 by Tools for Humanity and so far this company has raised millions of dollars in venture funding. However, due to complex processes like eye scanning, it has not yet become fully popular among the general public.
But now with these new partnerships, World’s focus is on adding users at a large scale – especially those who might have previously backed out from steps like getting an eye scan.
At the end of the event, World gave another big surprise: a partnership with Stripe. Now users will be able to make payments through World on Stripe-supported websites and apps. However, it has not been revealed when this feature will start.
