Microsoft Empowers Copilot Studio to Use Computers Like Humans
Microsoft this week added a new feature to its Copilot Studio called “Computer Use“. With the help of this feature, AI agents can now interact with websites and desktop applications like humans do – such as clicking buttons, selecting menus and typing in forms.
Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President, Charles Lamana, said that this new feature works even when an app or website does not have an API. Meaning, if a human can use an app, now AI agents will also be able to do the same.

This will greatly benefit businesses – now AI agents will be able to do tasks like data entry, market research, and invoice processing on their own. The special thing is that these agents will continue to work even when the button or screen layout of a website or app changes.
Microsoft has already added a similar feature to its consumer Copilot called “Actions”. This feature works in the background – such as restaurant booking, buying tickets, or online shopping. Although Actions is currently available only for select partners, the new Computer Use feature with Copilot Studio will work with more websites and apps.
